Third (winter) Rubber Tramps Rendezvous

Another year, another Rubber Tramps gathering. This year it was on the east side of Quartzsite in Scadden-Wash rather than the west side at Dome Rock. Activities were pretty much the same as the two previous years, discussions, group meals, campfires, and helping each other with various projects. The group was more spread out than previously, and a couple of groups of large RVs not associated with us who like to park fender to fender shoved themselves in among us.

The talks were mostly repeats of previous years, and I'm getting less from them with more than a year of fulltiming under my belt. However, it is nice to socialize with like-minded people. Cyndi managed to get over the cattle guard. (Her blog has a list of other RTR blog postings.)

Quartzsite and the big tent show was pretty much like previous years, with the fewer vendors griping about lower sales and higher costs, so I expect it there to be even fewer vendors next year unless something unexpected changes. Tucson seems to have taken away many of the gem/rock vendors, their show is now bigger than the Quartzsite ones.
